Oh, Tuesdays.

Oh, Tuesdays. I get out of class I bit earlier on Tuesdays but boy am I POOPED!

I had Ovaltine Oats for breakfast.
So yummy!

Bryan made me my favorite veggie wrap.
(spinach, feta, onion, bruschetta) This is definitely becoming a staple of my lunches. I love it! Healthy and so much flavor! I had original popchips and leftover veggies and dip from Sunday on the side.

Dinner was a simple salad (by the time I get home I have no motivation to cook I just want to EAT)
It was baby spinach, turkey, reduced fat pepperjack, and pretzels. Pretzels? Yes, I wanted a crunch in there and I don't have croutons in the house so I got creative. They were a Delicious addition!

I told myself I was going to save my last two VitaBrownies but I couldn't help myself.
These get better every time! Yum!

Gonna go catch up on some blog reading and then TurboJam!

Such a thing as too much splurge?

Yes. There is on Super Bowl Sunday. Bleh!

Quick recap of pre-Super Bowl events...

Worked out 3 days in a row and was so proud! Sunday afternoon I tried TurboSculpt, a 40 minute workout that targets all your muscles. I normally don't work out for that long so I was really happy that I made it through and felt great after!

So I began my Sunday off healthily as I knew my evening would be anything but.

I had white chocolate peanut butter on half of an Arnold thin...
I love these things!! This was absolutely delicious. And so simple! I had some berries on the side.

Lunch was dull but tasty...
Not sure why this is sideways! I had turkey and hummus on a thin and buffalo chips.

I was saving my appetite for this spread!

There was pizza, dips, pigs in a blanket, veggies and dip, chili (Bryan's version of Bob's famous recipe), peanut butter bars, brownies, and chocolate chip cookies.

Boy did I splurge. I ate to my heart's content, and then some. TOO MUCH EATING! I felt like a big pile of yuck today. Glad to be back on track.

I started my day off with oats and white chocolate pb.
Used more water then usually and could barely finish half the bowl!

Lunch was turkey and chipotle hummus on a thin...with Sriracha. The Sriracha made ALL the difference! It was SO tasty. I can not wait to have this sandwich again. On the side I had barbecue popchips (love love love these) and broccoli dipped in yogurt ranch dressing.

For dinner Bryan made me an egg white omelette LOADED with veggies.
I ate it on an Arnold thin and dipped it in my spicy ketchup mix. On the side I had some veggies and fat free dip leftover from yesterday's feast.

For dessert I tried a peach Crystal Light popsicle. (Only like 15 calories!) Unfortunately it tasted only 15 cals. It was lacking in flavor...it tasted too icy. Oh well. I'm also going to have the chocolate mousse cup...so that will make up for it!

Slightly less lazy Saturday!

Slept in late this morning so I skipped breakfast and went right to lunch.

I had the Green Giant Garden Vegetable Medley
with N.O.O. pretzels and chipotle hummus on the side. Have I mentioned that I like the pretzels sticks much better? The veggies come in a very flavorful marinade but they still needed something else so I livened them up with garlic powder, pepper, and tomato and basil feta cheese. TASTY!

Throughout the afternoon I snacked on raisins and soy crisps. I also finally purchased this:
I've been craving juice a lot and thought this would be a healthy way to quench my thirst. It was! Very low in calories, sweet but not sugary, and oh so delicious.

Bryan made Ahi tuna steaks for dinner!
We ate them rare in a teriyaki/sriracha/soy sauce/sesame oil/lemon juice sauce. They were fantastic! They tasted restaurant quality. I had broccoli and some reduced fat pepperjack. (I really need to stop squeezing cheese into every meal!)

For dessert I tried one of the honey wheat Arnold Sandwich thins that I was sent to review.
I ate it toasted with strawberry jam and it was delicious. This was an awesome dessert...thrilled that it was only 150 calories! It's probably unfair to give the thin a rating because of the jam but I'd have to give it a 9/10. So excited to try them out with other toppings!

In other news, I was finally feeling good enough to try out my TurboJam dvds...yayyyy!!!! I went for the 20 minute workout so I wouldn't overdo it. I LOVED it! There were a lot of tae-bo moves that I was used to so it wasn't too challenging but I still felt like I got a great workout. I'm definitely going to try out the other ones but I think the 20 minute workout will fit in best with my schedule. Andrea also sent me a Turbo results guidebook with tons of exercise and eating tips so I'm excited to look through it!

Lazy Friday

I'm still feeling really under the weather so today was a rather lazy day. I wanted to get homework done and finally try out my new workout dvds but it is just so hard to get myself to do much of anything when I'm feeling this icky! Blah!!!

Had oats this morning.
It had been a while! Good old maple and brown sugar oatmeal with raisins. It was yummy but I wish I had used dried cranberries instead. (Note the sad face...it symbolizes how I have been feeling this week!)

Lunch was one of my favorites.
Bryan and I call this tuna-mole! (Tuna and guacamole)
I usually eat the two together on a wrap but today I just put them on a chip...simple and YUMMY!

I love my popchips but every once in a while you have to give in to the real stuff.
Buffalo bites and guacamole are the best combo!

Tonight I wasn't feeling up to eating a big meal so I just snacked a lot. Some of my snacks included...
A BlueBran Vitatop. This is like my 5th this week. I am gonna turn into a Vitatop! I'm addicted!

I also had some broccoli and yogurt ranch dressing.

And also some bbq popchips that went unpictured.

Hoping to feel up to doing something with the rest of my night!

I'm back....Again!

So I must have jinxed myself because once I started to get back into the swing of things I got sick again!

Tuesday night I was coming up from a crunch and got a huge wave of dizziness. It kept up through the rest of the night and then I started to feel nauseous too so I called it a very early night. Wednesday I woke up feeling like I was hit with a ton of bricks. I felt better by lunch but after dinner I was back to feeling awful! Worse than the night before! Ugh! I'm headed to the doctor's tomorrow. So, needless to say my fitness got put on the back burner. Let me update you on my eats at least.

Wednesday's breakfast was a CranBran Vitatop.
I toasted it instead of microwaving it and even though I left it in a tad too long, it was much better this way! I actually liked that the edges were a little crispy.

Lunch was...
slices of turkey and reduced fat pepperjack cheese, broccoli dipped in lite honey mustard, blueberries, and popchips. I have to say, I've been fairly pleased with the Oscar Mayer turkey but for whatever reason this batch was bland! No taste at all! I was also a little disappointed with the cheese because it seemed reduced in flavor because of the reduced fat. But, overall, a decent lunch.

Forgot to photograph my dinner til halfway through...
Gotta stop doing that! Portobella "burgers" with pesto. Very yummy, but I was still hungry after. I dipped part of a wrap in the leftover pesto and also snacked on blue chips and chipotle hummus. I finished everything off with a Vitabrownie.
Liked it better than the first time!

I had another Vitatop this morning due to pure laziness...
But it was a good choice! I went with Appleberry and toasted it and it was delish.

Today's lunch.
Bryan's pictures are so much better than mine! This beautiful dish was very satisfying. The wrap (whole-wheat wrap with baby spinach, red onion, roasted red pep bruschetta and feta) was SO good. Much better than my turkey wraps earlier this week. I love how it's vegetarian and it's still so full of flavor. I also had broccoli dipped in lite parm peppercorn dressing, N.O.O pretzels, and berries. Yum!

Dinner.
(Wish Bryan could photograph all my meals! This one's so lame!) I had a Morningstar Farms black bean burger with a Sriracha/ketchup mix to dip, some reduced fat pepperjack, pickles, and bbq popchips. This meal was ready in about five minutes and gone in probably even less than that. It was great but I'm back to feeling yucky. SO frustrating!

I want to try out my turbojam dvds!!! GRRRR!

Getting back into the swing of things...

Yesterday felt all out of whack. Sunday was a waste of a day, so I had to try and cram all of Sunday's to-do's into Monday. To make matters worse, I had class til 7:30 and had to run some errands after so I didn't get home until 8 and then had to fit everything in before I went to bed. (I get up at 5am so staying up past 9 o'clock is late for me!) Blah!

So, slowly but surely, I'm getting back to my usual routine...reading blogs, homework, working out, eating normally! ...etc, etc.

Mondays and Tuesdays are rough days in general so my plan is to do light stuff on these days, like lifting weights and crunches, and do actual workouts on the other days of the week. The Turbojam dvds I won came in the mail yesterday (Yay! And another thank you to Andrea!) so I am excited to try them out some time this week.

So, on to eats.

This morning's breakfast was a banana-nut VitaTop. No picture because it looked the same as last time, and it tasted the same too. Only very good, not great. But I was still satisfied.

Lunch...
I had turkey and baby spinach on a whole-wheat wrap, berries, original popchips, and jalapeno hummus. It was about as exciting as it looks. This was my first time trying the jalapeno flavored hummus and I was a little disappointed. To me it tasted like original hummus with a very spicy aftertaste. Not great!

Dinner was better.
Another salad! But it was exactly what I wanted. I had baby spinach (yes, more) with an italian herb chik'n patty (Morningstar Farms), red onion, roasted red pep bruschetta, feta cheese, and light peppercorn parm dressing. This was basically the wrap I eat for lunch a lot, but in salad version. The bruschetta and dressing mixed together which gave it an interesting twist. It was tasty and I wish there was more of it!

Taste-Off!
I decided to compare Newman's Own Organics white cheddar soy crisps with cheddar popchips. It was kind of a toss-up. If you're looking for the potato chip crunch, ya gotta go with the popchips. However, if you need a snack that's packed with flavor, I would choose the soy crisps. They are loaded with the cheesy goodness that the popchips are slightly lacking in. The nutritional facts are all pretty even (fat, cals, sodium, etc) so it's definitely your preference. If I had to choose, I'd go with the soy crisps for my cheese fix!

I'm back!

Sorry to disappear from the blog world for a few days. I wound up really really sick yesterday and had to put the blogging on hold!

Instead of recapping the whole weekend, I'll just give you a few highlights...

My purchases from Saturday's grocery trip:
Notice something pretty on the left side? A beautiful rose from my babe!

This is part of Saturday's lunch...
A spicy phoenix roll. YUM! I love love love sushi!

Ok let's jump ahead to today.

I was a little nervous about eating today after yesterday's sickness but my bowl of oats went okay.
Actually I guess it went better than okay since I forgot to take a picture until I was almost done! I added some fresh blueberries to the regular mix. Loved them!

Lunch was turkey, shredded cheddar, tomatoes, and baby spinach on a wrap.
I dipped it in a honey mustard, and enjoyed some broccoli and N.O.O. pretzels on the side. I also had an apple and more blueberries for a pre-lunch snack.

I had planned out what I was gonna have for dinner much earlier today but during my painfully long class I got a huge craving for a veggie sub from Wegman's.
I knew it wasn't the healthiest option ever, but I figured I was still making up for all the food I didn't eat yesterday. I got a wheat sub with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, black olives, oil and mayo. It really hit the spot!! So glad I gave into my craving.
