Highs and Lows

Start with the bad, end with the good.

Lows...
(I'll make this part short and sweet)
  • Worked on a Friday!!!
  • MISERABLE cold ... one of the worst I can remember having.
  • Forgot my glasses and driving at night was terrifying.
Now for the highs!!

I started my day off with a morning workout. This was something new for me. I never thought I could actually get up early to exercise but at the bright and early hour of 5am I was up doing 20 minutes of cardio and I am SO proud of myself! Plus, anytime I drove today instead of doing what Chalene from turbojam calls "standing crunches" I did "sitting crunches" And I could really feel my abs being worked!

I also had a very successful shopping trip with my friends Erin and Krista. I got great deals! For around 80 dollars I got two shirts, two sweaters, a dress, sunglasses, a scarf and a bracelet! Lots of good stuff. I haven't shopped for myself in a long long time (other than a few failed online purchases here and there) and I was really excited! PLUS I wore my pedometer while I was shopping and burned 300 cals!!

Some of my favorite purchases: Sunglasses from NY&Co and dress from Express.
Check out that model pose! Hahaha. Dork!! (Excuse my pale legs, it's been a while since they've seen the sun!)
Plus a cute little cardigan from Express to make it more of a spring look!

I guesssss I should share my eats too?

Breakfast... (phone pic, totally featuring my steering wheel in the corner, oops!)
I had a Kashi blackberry graham bar (YUMM) and frozen grapes. Super tasty, but not enough to fill me up!

Lunch was a twist on egg salad.
Instead of mayo, I used hummus! But, there was a little mix-up with the hummus and instead of being mixed with garlic hummus it was mixed with chipotle and was.. not good. No worries, I had some grapes, cucs, and crackers to snack on. Plus, I met up with Bryan on my break and he brought me broccoli and garlic hummus. So, I was satisified :)

I had dinner at the mall. I would never ever eat Subway's meat
But I love their veggies! I got a whole-wheat sub with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, banana peppers, onions, and olives, topped with oregano, parmesan cheese and oil and vinegar. On the side I got barbecue baked chips (good, but no comparison to popchips!!) and some fuji apple crisps! I was super excited to try these because I have seen them on other blogs. They were...different. They were sweet and I did enjoy them, but they had a totally strange consistency! Overall, I think this was a great option for a "fast food" meal.

Glad I worked out this morning because there is no way I am up to exercising with this miserable cold. Somehow I am stuffed up with a runny nose at the same time. Anyone have advice for how to cure a cold????

Have a great weekend!
